Vernon Curtis Jordan, age 70, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019, in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness organization for many years. His former employer was Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked as a circuit technician. Because of the nature of his job, he was able to travel to various destinations. He would light up when he talked about his travel experiences. Vernon was well liked and had many friends. He never met a stranger.
Preceding him in death is his, father Ezra Jordan. He is survived by his daughter, Venetia Nicol Jordan; granddaughter, Alexis Austin; grandson, Anthony W. Taylor, II; great grandson, Jordan Austin; mother, Inez Jordan; sister, Francine Robertson; sister, Gloria Head; brothers, Esrich Jordan (Alethea) and Melvin Jordan (Eula); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
There will be a private viewing for a few select family members only. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main Street, Mansfield, Ohio. 44902. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
