Tanya Kaye Scott, 40, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born to Robin Scott and Sharon (Oney) Ochoa in Mansfield on November 3, 1979. Growing up, she was also raised by her step-father, Froilan Ochoa.
Tanya was always a sweetheart and had such a joyful smile. As a care giver with a big heart, she loved to help others, especially kids. Tanya was happiest when kids were around. She enjoyed volleyball, basketball, show choir and band. She came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a woman of faith. A few days just before her passing, Tanya was left concerned for her family and children, leaving her final words with her mom stating: “Mom if something happens, please don’t freak, but make sure the kids know how much I loved them please. I love them so much”.
Tanya is survived by her beloved fiancé, Will Hayes; children, Natalie Grace Sipes and Kaleb Sipes; brother, Josh Scott; half sister, Alicia Fulton; and mother-in-law, Lois Hayes.
She is preceded in death by her son, Nathan James Sipes; step-mother, Evelyn Scott; paternal grandparents, Harry and Bertha Scott; and maternal grandparents, Roger and Nancy Oney.
Private services will be held for the family. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to have served the family.
