Opal Eileen Parry, 92, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Kingston of Ashland. Born August 3, 1926 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Glenn F. and Kathryn Belle (Newcomer) McMillen.
A homemaker, Eileen was a 1944 graduate of Madison High School. Eileen was a kind and generous lady who was a great cook. She married her first husband, Jay D. Miller, on July 10, 1945 during his time home while being transferred from the European to the Pacific Theatre during World War II as he was serving with the United States Army. Together, they raised their family on a farm in Pennsylvania. Eileen returned to Mansfield briefly in the 1980’s before moving to Florida. Having been widowed she met and married her second husband, Floyd Parry, whom she spent 17 happy years with.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (William) Lawrence of Lititz, Pennsylvania; her son, Glenn Miller of Ashland; her grandchildren, Jay (Rochelle) Lawrence and Kathryn (Jason) Harmon; her great grandchildren, Nathan Zerbe, Trevor Lawrence and Evan Lawrence; and her brother, Raymon (Nancy) McMillen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, First Sergeant Jay D. Miller; her second husband, Floyd Parry; and a sister, Wilma Mae McMillen.
