Guy “Guybo” Weiler, 63, of Ashland passed away March 19, 2020 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus after a hard fought battle.
Guy was born December 16, 1956 to Guy and Francis (Coral) Weiler, and lived his life in Ashland. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1975. After graduation, Guy took up residence on Main Street, where the legendary stories of Bingham, Lane, Cooper, and Paramore amongst others still live on.
He worked for the City of Ashland Sewer Department, Coburn, and NAPA Auto. He was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge 1360, Sons of the American Legion Post 88, and Ashland Moose Lodge 1383. Guy played in their numerous golf outings with Donnie, Clyde, and KP. In his younger years, Guy enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with Kyle, Ferg, and Icenhour. He was an avid sports fan, hoping each season the Browns would bring the championship home. He spent Sundays watching NASCAR and made frequent trips to the Michigan 400 with his buddies KO, Dever, and others. As his children got older, he spent his weekends watching his boys wrestle and play football.
Guy is survived by three children: Ernie (Shawn) of Ashland, Adam (Beatrice) of Columbus and Carly (Kurt) of Panama City and his five grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Cindy VanMeter, his partner Shannon Grim, and many members of his beloved Strine family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Robert, his sister Becky Bowersock, and his brother Troy.
Private services will be held for his family. Contributions can be made in memory of Guy Weiler to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, OH or Homeward Bound Dog Shelter c/o Diane Hammontree, 302 Center Street, Ashland, OH.
