Daniel Harry “Squishy” VanHoose, 37, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Marion General Hospital. Born March 21, 1983 in Mansfield, he was the son of Daniel Harry and Lorraine (Karl) VanHoose.
Squishy loved being with his family and fishing with his uncles. He liked to cook as well as eat spicy food and had attended Culinary Art School. He enjoyed writing fantasy short stories, collecting Transformers and gaming systems ~ especially playing Dungeon Dragons.
He is survived by his three sisters, Michelle VanHoose, Crystal (Jay) VanHoose and Dorothy Gilbert; his nieces and nephews, Anastaisa, Skylar, Allen, Ojas, Christine, Zachary and Cheynne; his aunts and uncles, Donald Karl, Sussann Karl, Frank Karl, Agnes Karl and Larry Bridges; his cousins, Sarah Gibson- Birmingham, Nancy Gibson, Matthew Gibson, Issac Gibson and Roman Gibson; and his fur baby, Mo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy VanHoose; his aunts, Alice Sams and Grace Karl; his uncle, Albert Karl; and his cat, Miss Jiggles.
A memorial service will be held at Liberty Park on Saturday, July 11, 2020 starting at 1:30 p.m.
